Frequently Asked Questions
1. Booking
Where are you based & where will you travel to?
I am based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and happy to travel within the North East of England. Travel expenses are included within the pricing for the package.
For any travel outside the North East of England, then travel expenses and accommodation would be required.
If we want to book you, what is the next step?
Please complete the form to make an enquiry and we can have a quick chat around availability for your Wedding date, and then move onto a free consultation to discuss your needs.
What is your availability?
My availability depends on capacity and bookings. Usually weekdays are fine, but weekends will need to be checked in the initial chat after placing an enquiry.
Will you accept last minute bookings?
Of course! As long as there is availability at the time and enough time to get a free consultation in first then I can be agile enough to capture your big day.
Is a deposit required and when do I need to pay?
Yes a 50% non-refundable deposit is required, with the final balance expected up to 7 days prior to the wedding day.
What do you need from us?
Your time initially. We need to have a consultation or discussion about the plan for the day, the location, how you see it unfolding and what the timings should be like.
I will provide a list of requirements once the booking is in place, but it’s just a simple questionnaire with some details I will need to make my job easier and your big day the best it can be on film.
2. Wedding Shoot
What happens if you fall ill or are unavailable on the day?
Unless I am hospitalised, I will be there! (Man flu does not affect me). Joking aside, I have other contacts who will be willing to take on the project of capturing the day for you.
When do you typically arrive to start shooting?
Depending on the plan for the day and where I need to be to capture the start of your ‘HitchStory’ will inform the starting time. But usually I require time for equipment check and setup before shooting so as early as I can be. This isn’t just about the ceremony, it’s your whole day.
How will you make sure you don't clash with our photographer?
My wife is a photographer. We have worked together for a while now on events commercially. I understand the importance of your photos, being like a ninja and look to be out of sight as much as possible.
Do you film any interviews or speeches?
Yes, I aim to capture as much as my SD cards and batteries will allow me, including audio, speeches and even some interviews or behind the scenes chitter chatter that can be weaved into your film and tell the story of your big day.
I hate missing anything, especially of importance.
How do you handle unexpected changes such as the weather?
Just roll with it. Nothing you can do about weather change and I come prepared for anything out of the ordinary. As I am a creative person there are always ways and means to turn something negative into a positive.
Do you require refreshments?
Well, I will be there for your full day, and would appreciate some refreshments, and while I’m not expecting any of your wedding breakfast or a seat at the table, I would love to share your enjoyment and sample some of your wedding cake to take home – my wife loves cake!
I will bring some snacks and drink for myself but a sandwich or something for lunch would be enough.
How would you describe your filming style?
I specialise in an unstaged vlogumentary style, discreetly capturing the genuine emotions and moments of your special day in stunning 4K.
I produce an emotionally engaging 30-minute film that artfully combines heartfelt laughter, joyful tears, and memorable interactions. Your wedding film will be a raw but polished, cinematic narrative that truly reflects the essence of your big day.
Do you offer Drone footage?
Yes as a licenced drone operator I can and will try to provide and capture aerial footage if conditions are right. Weather conditions must be right for drone flying on the day (no rain or little wind), but also no restrictions in the airspace on location.
How do you dress on the wedding day?
Smart, but not wedding attire so not to be mistaken for a member of your wedding party. I may wear comfortable but smart trainers to allow me to be more ninja like moving around a lot.
Can we request specific moments or a shot list to be captured?
You can share any big moments you want me to look out for, but typically I will look to capture most big moments anyways – unless of course there are any surprises i’m not aware of.
While I do not take shot lists due to the vlogumentary unstaged style of the video
I will do my best to look out for the big moments. But unless there is a second shooter on location I cannot 100% guarantee the capture of everything.
3. Video Production
Can I get access to more RAW footage?
I store all footage for up to 1 month after the final video is shared for backup. I do not share any extra RAW footage as it may not be in a state of use to you (ie the raw footage may require post processing, colour correcting and grading, stabilisation and more). Plus the audio may be recorded seperately and not match the video until during the edit.
Do you keep backups of the footage?
I will store all footage and your project file for up to 1 month after the final film has been delivered for backup purposes if ever needed. This and all footage will be removed from my system after 30 days under GDPR.
Can we choose our own music?
During our consultation I will get a feeling for you both as a couple and what style and vibe you would go for. Due to copyright issues for commercial projects the source of music has to be selected from a specific library to which I have access. Unfortunately I do not allow the couple to choose their own music as the use of music for impact in a video is as important as the video itself. I will provide the soundtrack to your movie.
How soon can we expect to see a preview or highlights reel?
You will receive your 3 to 5 minute highlight video sooner than your final film in under 30 days.
How long until we get our hands on our final wedding film?
Following the wedding day, please allow up to 90 days guaranteed turnaround for delivery of your final wedding film. If you have paid the additional fee for faster priority editing you should expect your final film within 30 days. However depending on capacity I aim to complete the final film as soon as possible for you – I know how excited you will be!
Can we have any input into the final wedding video?
Unfortunately for production reasons, time and artistic license I do not allow any input into the final video, however you do get an option to remove scenes from the final edit when I share the private preview.
How will we receive our wedding video?
I will provide the final 4K video on a USB stick delivered in a gift box, whilst also giving you the option to download digitally online, and if allowed, uploaded to my Youtube channel either publicly or privately.
